5a05 is a type of aluminum alloy that is resistant to rust and contains magnesium. Unlike other alloys, it cannot be strengthened through heat treatment. It has a higher magnesium content and lower strength, similar to the 5A03 alloy. When these alloys are cold deformed, their strength increases but their plasticity decreases. In its annealed state, the alloy has relatively high plasticity, while in the semi cold worked hardened state, the plasticity is still acceptable. It has good resistance to corrosion and can be easily welded using spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, and argon arc welding. However, it is not easy to machine or anneal in its original state, but in the semi cold work hardened state, it is still acceptable.
